Prix de Rome

The Prix de Rome is the oldest and most generous award for young artists and architects (up to 35 years) in the Netherlands. The prize was founded in 1808 by King Louis Napoleon.
Mission of the Prix de Rome is to trace talent and to identify trends in art and architecture in an international context.

Collection sculpture Prix de Rome to Museum Beelden aan Zee

The Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and Museum Beelden aan Zee in Scheveningen will join forces in their collections. Beelden aan Zee will manage the sculpture collection of Prix de Rome winners. The sculptures will be shown in the new Gipsotheek of the museum, which opens in February 2013, and will be accessible to a broad audience.
