The work of Ben Pointeker often deals with the gap between representation and the presence of an image: he isolates an image or scene from its (virtual) narrative surrounding and tries to untie the image from what it shows or represents. By taking it out of its common representational use the image can appear (as an image) - and becomes the actual actor of its scene.
